‘Training of Managers’ programme carried out within the framework of Increasing the Adaptability of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Operation (ADAPTESK) implemented in 8 provinces under the Consortium led by GIZ with the coordination of Ministry of Labour and Social Security, will be organized in project’s pilot provinces. Within this scope, first training was organized on 23rd of November 2016 in Mersin. A total of 28 participants including Chamber Presidents and Managers especially from Mersin Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers’ Union (MESOB) and also Presidents and Managers from Niğde, Adana, Karaman, Kahramanmaraş, Konya, Antalya ve Osmaniye Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers’ Unions will attend the trainings.
MESOB President Mr. Talat Dinçer, during his opening speech of the training that drew intense interest from Chamber representatives, stated that in addition to textile, various training topics such as personal development, leadership, management skills, entrepreneurship that contribute to the business of tradesmen and craftsmen as requested by Chambers are being delivered in Mersin within the scope of ADAPTESK Project which is implemented in 8 pilot provinces. Mr. Dinçer mentioned that as of July 2016 1600 tradesmen and craftsmen have benefitted from the trainings and all training demands of the Chambers will be met.
A total of 23.250 tradesmen and craftsmen will receive training in 8 pilot provinces throughout Turkey. Only in Mersin, trainings are planned to reach 5.000 tradesmen and craftsmen.
On the first day of Manager Trainings, Prof. Dr. Erhan Eroğlu from Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences Department of Communication Design and Management delivered training on “Basic Communication Skills”. During the day, the participants were trained on ‘’Leadership Skills for Tradesmen and Craftsmen” and “Good Management Skills for Tradesmen and Craftsmen” under the guidance of Mr. Eroğlu. On the second day, ADAPTESK Project Consortium Partner Eduser Consultancy’s Field Coordinator Mr. İzzet Çevik addressed the steps that will increase awareness and participation of tradesmen and craftsmen towards project activities, also the importance of tradesmen and craftsmen in economy and responsibilities for managers. Training of Managers will continue with Bursa on 26-27 November 2017.
